Limassol, Cyprus: April 3rd 2017

DP World regrets the actions being taken by the stevedores’ union. We would like to inform customers that we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

DP World Limassol has and will continue to honour the Collective Agreement that is in place to ensure the rights of both DP World and stevedores are protected.

However, DP World has been informed by independent legal advice and the Ministry of Transport and Communications, that the stevedores’ union does not have the right to carry out certain types of activities at the port which is the basis of this dispute.

DP World is a global leader in the operations and management of terminals and believes in respecting the workforce, providing training and development and creating a safe environment for all employees. The company is committed to the development of Limassol port, while working together in supporting the sustainable economic growth of Cyprus.
To ensure the port of Limassol can be sustainable for the future it is important that this issue is resolved as quickly as possible. DP World remains fully committed to finding a solution and remains open to dialogue on this matter.

End of statement.
